Eat Right India Movement-

The Eat Right India Movement is based on the pillars of Healthy Eating and Safe Eating. The aim is to engage, excite, and enable citizens to improve their health and well-being. The movement is led by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

Its purpose is to bring about a social and behavioral change in the minds of the citizen. To ensure the material availability, a systematic framework is developed. The material from scientific and credible resources are thus made available to all. Moreover, FSSAI also partnered with multiple stakeholders like NGOs, Civil Society Organizations, and many others.

Firstly, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare stated in a press release that this award is a strong recognition of FSSAI’s holistic and path-breaking approach towards food. Secondly, He quoted that “This vision of health for all can be achieved through twin measures of physical exercise and choosing nutritious food in our daily lives.”

The dream will become a reality only when joint efforts are put forth by intermediaries. They are food producers, processors, distributors to empower consumers to adopt the right eating practices.

By 2050, a surge in demand for healthy, nutritious, plant-based, local, seasonal, and indigenous foods can be seen. They will also work on climate-friendly food production. It focuses on land and water conservation by environment friendly packaging. Reduction in food loss, increase in small scale production, and re purposing of waste will be adopted.
